Welcome to
MM Security.co.uk
My name is Mark Mitchell, and I am proud to be the owner of MM Security.
I am also a Director & Chairman of Ashford Partnership Against Crime (APAC).
At MM Security, our mission is to provide our clients with the safest possible environment by offering professional and reliable security services. We specialize in supplying door staff for a range of businesses and industries, ensuring a safe and secure environment for customers and employees alike. Our team is highly trained and experienced in managing challenging security situations with professionalism and integrity.
I formed MM Security as I was finding it increasingly difficult to find reliable professional door staff in the Ashford area. I was being let down by other security companies, sometimes at the last minute, which, in the Licensing Trade, can cause disruption to business. It could also result in being forced to close if we were unable to meet the number of security staff required under Licence conditions and could potentially put patrons and staff at venues at risk. I was also growing concerned about the quality of the security staff I was seeing and being offered, again, which could potentially put the patrons of the venues at risk. I strongly believe that the safety of staff and public is paramount and the only way I could make sure that these values are upheld was by creating my own company and recruiting the right Team.

I have myself worked in the Door Security industry for over 30 years, even before SIA Licences were issued. I received my first licence in 1995, a Westminster Council Licence. I have held a licence ever since, without any gaps. To this day I am still actively working as a Frontline DS Security Officer side by side with my staff. I pride myself on recruiting professional, reliable, efficient security staff who I know I can trust to deal with any situation as calmly, swiftly and efficiently as possible. I have had numerous positive comments from both Ashford Borough Council and Kent Police licencing department's regarding the quality and professionalism off my staff.

Both myself and my Operations Manager Jo Uden, we have gained over 50 years’ experience in the industry. We have both seen the gradual refinement of security staff from the bouncers of old to the professional, respectful staff I have recruited for MM Security. Between Jo and I, over the expanse of years, have seen a change for the better with the reputation and conduct of security staff improving decade by decade. Both Jo and I have a wealth of experience dealing with crime, violence and anti-social behaviour and have learned first hand how to access and deal with any situation before it has the chance to escalate.
These strategies only develop from experience in the industry giving us the opportunity to pass this wealth of real-life knowledge onto our Team. In our 50 years of experience, we have been forced to deal with extreme situations including dealing with armed suspects brandishing various weapons including blades, improvised weapons and even firearms. In the distant, past while working in the London and surrounding areas, I have experienced being shot at and being stabbed but thankfully incidents such as this are extremely rare occurrences, particularly outside of London. These experiences however, all form valuable lessons in dealing with this type of isolated incident and only enhance the knowledge and experience I can share with my Team. I have also personally given first aid including lifesaving CPR back in 2008.
Both Jo and I have gained over 50 years in the Licence Trade, working and running licenced venues and continue to do so. This ground level insight puts us in a prime position to be able to assess and provide what is needed to create a safe and successful environment for Patrons and staff alike.

I have used my vast experience, both good and bad, to form a Company that I feel exceeds all the possible needs of any venue requiring security arrangements.
We have numerous meetings (Weekly/Monthly) and conversations with both Ashford Borough Council and Kent Police Licencing Officers.
