RIGID Hand Cuff Course

This basic 1-day handcuffing course, is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal and practical aspects of handcuff use. The course covers key topics such as legal requirements, health and safety considerations, proper application and removal techniques, and the documentation required after handcuff use. The course is delivered by an experienced Fully Qualified B-TEC Level 3 Hand-Cuff Instructor who will guide students through scenario-based exercises and assess them with both written and practical exams.

Students must have already completed the required training and currently hold a valid

SIA license.

This certification is valuable for professionals in roles such as Door Supervisors, Close Protection operatives, and Retail Security Guards, where conflict management will be required. It enhances their ability to handle situations where handcuffs are necessary, ensuring that they are both justified and skilled in their use.

Upon successful completion, candidates receive a certificate valid for one year. To maintain competency, an annual refresher course will be required, after which a new certificate will be issued, valid for another 12 months.
