-
Conducting site/venue visits and welfare checks on staff
-
Responding to a wide range of incidents as required
-
Patrolling local areas to act as a visual deterrent to anti-social behavior and crime
-
Investigating intruder alarm activations and contacting the relevant personnel, such as key holders or Kent Police
-
Performing welfare checks on members of the public we encounter during our patrols or those alerted to us via internal and external radios
Types of Incidents We Respond To
Our Response Team has been called upon to assist in various situations, including:
-
Injuries: These can range from minor falls to more serious incidents such as weapon attacks, potential drug overdoses, and road traffic collisions (RTC).
-
Vulnerable Persons: We assist in situations involving lone females, intoxicated individuals, elderly persons, those suffering from mental health issues, or missing persons.
Other Incident Types
-
Violent Incidents: We respond to incidents involving multiple people, potential injuries, and distressed members of the public who may have witnessed the incident.
-
Anti-Social Behaviour: This includes issues with individuals under 18, and while alcohol and drugs are sometimes involved, anti-social behaviour can take many forms, including loitering in large groups, shouting, swearing, and drinking in non-designated areas.
Training and Skills
Our Response Officers are highly skilled, having undergone additional training beyond the basic SIA Frontline Door Supervisor certification. This includes:
-
First Aid (including the use of Trauma Packs and Defibrillators)
-
Smartwater Deployment
-
WAVE (Welfare and Vulnerability Engagement)
-
Drink Spiking Awareness
-
Substance Misuse Awareness
-
Tactical Response Training
-
ACT (Counter Terrorism)
Response Officers always work in pairs, with at least one officer trained in the deployment of rigid handcuffs and soft cuff restraints. This ensures that our officers are fully equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to handle all situations they encounter.
